We use these radios to pull wire and to test cables. We also use them to align cameras. Great radio, we had been using VHF radio. The UHF radios work better for our needs. school campuses and government facilities.

I bought 9 of these radios and used them for a military event and they worked great. The radios were spread out over a 2 mile area and never failed us. Very crisp and clear, we could hear each other even though about 2500 spectators were present. I'm buying 3 more!

Comments:

For years, we used Motorola Model RDU4100 walkie talkies in our 400,000+ square foot, 4-story manufacturing plant. The Motorolas worked fine - when they worked. They just weren't durable. They'd frequently break, or rubber button covers would pop off after one drop. These ICOMs are great. We bought a half dozen last year to try them out. Not only are they 40% cheaper than the Motorolas, they seem to be much more durable. Range is excellent and sound quality is good. We have not had any problems, and recently bought 6 more to replace the last of the Motorolas.

I purchased 6 of these 7 years ago for our horticultural nursery. We have been very pleased with the range and durability. Our nursery operates on 25 acres and reception is fairly reliable throughout the property. We now have 18 radios in service.

Good radio for our security team. Simple, dependable, basic work horse. Searched for weeks and the best price I could find was at Buy 2 Way Radios. We plan to buy more of these. Radio sounds great with the Impact Platinum 1-wire surveillance kit.

Comments:

Great Radios! We've been using about a dozen since 2009 and only one has (sort-of) broken. (Something is wrong with the volume control); you have to jiggle it to have the transmission come though sometimes - which means you miss stuff! BUT! All the rest have had no problems and they are used daily. Good range for our 300,000 sq/ft indoor and outdoor facility and very clear. We just ordered one more radio without hesitation. And the accompanying base-station is insane... that thing will transmit for MILES! 16 channels are more than we need; but certianly nice to have. We have them programmed to "sub-channels", so there's the "sub-channel delay" (as I call it), but you'll get that with any radio (I think?) Anyway, it's not that big of a deal. Anyway, I recommend! :)
